Pamplona se mira en el espejo de sus salas y museos vacíos de espectadores. Mientras algunos venden basura como arte, bendecida por comisarios de frases huecas, la ciudad renuncia a ser Capital Cultural. En 2016 ni siquiera pasó el primer corte, para el 2031 ni se atrevió a presentarse. Los razonamientos fueron claros: falta de consenso, falta de estrategia, falta de inversión. Como en las ferias de vanidades, se exhiben fotos enormes sin alma, y aquí se exhibe la ausencia de proyecto, la incapacidad de sostener memoria viva y la censura a ciertos artistas. El resultado: un circo de vulgaridad, donde la cultura se convierte en mercancía, y la ciudad en espectadora pasiva de su propia exclusión.

Pamplona y Navarra, ¿qué tiene que ver la cultura si siempre le suman el apartado festejos, como si la memoria se construyera con "confeti" y el consenso con charangas y pasacalles? La cultura no es sumar actos: es sostener raíces, cuidar la disidencia y abrirse al futuro.

In 2016 it did not even pass the first cut, for 2031 it did not dare to apply. The reasoning was clear: lack of consensus, lack of strategy, lack of investment. As in vanity fairs, oversized photos without soul are displayed, and here the absence of a project is exposed, the incapacity to sustain living memory and the censorship of certain artists. The result: a circus of vulgarity, where culture becomes merchandise, and the city a passive spectator of its own exclusion.

Pamplona and Navarra, what does culture have to do with it if it is always reduced to festivities, as if memory were built with “confetti” and consensus with parades and marching bands? Culture is not about adding events: it is about sustaining roots, caring for dissent, and opening to the future.
